FEDARENE is the premier European network of regional and local organisations which implement, co-ordinate and facilitate sustainable energy and environment policies. Regional and local agencies, ministries and departments working in these fields, are represented in FEDARENE.

FEDARENE ‘s members act at local and regional levels, which being close to the citizens, make it possible to identify the needs and to bring about adapted solutions, on sufficiently vast and homogenous economical, demographical and political areas.

European Small Hydropower Association (ESHA)

The European Small Hydropower Association (ESHA) is a lobby organisation promoting the interest of small hydropower in Europe and globally. ESHA was established in 1989 and is a founding member of EREC (European Renewable Energy Council). ESHA is ideally located with other renewable energy sources (RES) Associations in the Renewable Energy House in Brussels just a block away from the European institutions.

ESHA wants to use synergies at the European, national and local level in order to develop the small hydropower sector. ESHA serves to create a platform for actors in the field of SHP and to represent their interests at European level. ESHA is structured as a federation of EU national hydropower associations and is open to members from all sectors involved in small hydropower. Through the diversity of its members, ESHA is at the forefront of information on ongoing research and market trends regarding small hydropower.

ESHA has as its goal to raise the awareness and the interests of the small hydropower sector at European level in order to

  • Guarantee the representation of the sector at EU level
  • Improve the market conditions of the SHP industry
  • Increase the electricity production from SHP
  • Remove any barrier to further SHP development in the EU

The European Solar Thermal Industry Federation (ESTIF)

The European Solar Thermal Industry Federation (ESTIF) represents over 100 members consisting of manufacturers, service providers and national associations, which together cover 95% of today’s solar thermal market.

 

 

To fulfill its mission, ESTIF pursues the following strategic objectives:

  • to be a recognised partner of the EU institutions for the purpose of policy advice and implementation of support programs for renewables in heating and cooling
  • to promote solar thermal heating and cooling in Europe to achieve the target of 1m2 of collector area for every European in 2020.
  • to support its members when dealing with EU institutions, programs and policies concerning solar thermal issues
  • to promote the abolition of any trade barriers hampering the development of an open and large solar thermal market in Europe
  • to enhance EU initiatives aimed at the integration of solar thermal in the built environment
  • to develop and support instruments which increase consumer confidence, product quality and the impact of market stimulation tools
  • to actively contribute to the realisation of solar thermal’s potential, focusing in the first instance on Europe. Growth in Europe will be the best precondition for success in other parts of the world.

EUBIA – European Biomass Industry Association

EUBIA, the European Biomass Industry Association, was established in 1996 as an international non profit association in Brussels, Belgium. It groups together market forces, technology providers, and knowledge centres, all of them active in the field of biomass.

European Wind Energy Association (EWEA)

The European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) is the voice of the wind industry, actively promoting the utilisation of wind power in Europe and worldwide. It is ideally situated in the heart of the EU district of Brussels ensuring close proximity to European decision-makers.

It now has over 600 members from nearly 60 countries including manufacturers with a 90% share of the global wind power market, plus component suppliers, research institutes, national wind and renewables associations, developers, contractors, electricity providers, finance and insurance companies and consultants. This combined strength makes EWEA the world’s largest and most powerful wind energy network.

EWEA coordinates international policy, communications, research and analysis and provides various services to support members’ requirements. EWEA also organises high-profile industry events that members can attend at attractive rates.

EWEA analyses, formulates and establishes policy positions for the wind industry on key issues, cooperating with industry and research institutions on a number of market development and technology research projects.

In addition, the lobbying activities undertaken by EWEA help create a suitable legal framework within which members can successfully develop their businesses.

In a spirit of transparency, EWEA has voluntarily registered itself to the European Commission register of interest representatives, thereby also subscribing to the European Commission Code of Conduct.

The European Biomass Association

The European Biomass Association is a non profit Brussels based international organisation founded in 1990 whose mission is to develop the market for sustainable bioenergy, and ensure favorable business conditions for its members.

AEBIOM holds a strong position representing all bioenergy sectors and has a unique possibility to influence European directives, communications and various other EU papers. Further to that, AEBIOM is a member of the European Renewable Energy Council (EREC) with its offices based in the Renewable Energy House which is the central point for renewable energy issues in Europe.
